She began her football journey at a young age, playing for local clubs SV Reifferscheid and SC 07 Bad Neuenahr, where she developed her skills and passion for the game. Knaak's professional career took off when she joined SC 07 Bad Neuenahr in 2012, making 12 appearances. Following her time at Leverkusen, she spent four successful years at SC Freiburg, making 86 appearances and netting nine goals. On January 1, 2025, she signed with Manchester City Women, where she has made 22 appearances and scored six goals as of the 2025-2026 season.
