Eugénie Le Sommer was born on May 18, 1989, in Grasse, France. She began her football journey at the tender age of five, playing for Trélissac FC before progressing through various youth clubs, including AS Guermeur and Lorient. Club Career
Le Sommer's professional career took off when she joined Olympique Lyonnais in 2010, quickly establishing herself as a key player. Over her tenure at Lyon, she has scored over 300 goals, making her the club's all-time leading scorer. With Lyon, she has won an impressive eight UEFA Women's Champions League titles and 13 French domestic league titles, solidifying the club's dominance in European football. In 2021, she also had a successful loan spell with OL Reign in the NWSL, where she netted 8 goals in 18 appearances.
