Aniek Janssen, a talented forward, hails from the Netherlands and began her football journey at a young age. She developed her skills in the youth teams of RKSV Wittenhorst before making the significant move to Germany, where she joined SGS Essen in 2013. Club Career
Janssen made her professional debut for SGS Essen in the Frauen-Bundesliga on September 8, 2013, during a thrilling 3–3 draw against BV Cloppenburg. She quickly made a name for herself by scoring her first goal for the club on November 3, 2013, in a 5–1 victory over Hoffenheim. After a successful stint at Essen, she joined PSV Eindhoven, where she played a crucial role in the team. In 2019, Janssen signed with VfL Wolfsburg, where she continued to shine, contributing to the team’s success with two Frauen-Bundesliga titles and five consecutive DFB-Pokal Frauen Cups. Over her five seasons with Wolfsburg, she made over 150 appearances, showcasing her consistency and skill on the pitch.
International Career
Janssen has been a vital part of the Dutch national team, making her mark on the international stage. She played a significant role in the Netherlands' triumph at the UEFA Women's Championship in 2017, coming on as a substitute in the final against Denmark. Later, she participated in the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, where she played every minute of the tournament, helping the team reach the final and scoring her first international goal against Cameroon.
