Early Life & Background
Tabitha Chawinga was born on May 22, 1996, in Rumphi, Malawi. Growing up in a football-loving family, she developed a passion for the sport at an early age. Chawinga began her youth career at DD Sunshine, where she honed her skills and quickly made a name for herself as a prolific forward.
Club Career
Chawinga's professional career took off in 2009 when she joined DD Sunshine, where she made 24 appearances and scored an impressive 83 goals. In 2014, she moved to Krokom/Dvärsätts IF, netting 39 goals in 17 matches. Her next stint was with Kvarnsvedens IK from 2015 to 2017, where she continued to excel, scoring 84 goals in 70 appearances. In 2018, she signed with Jiangsu Suning, contributing significantly to the team's success with 62 goals in 78 matches over two seasons. After a short spell at Wuhan Jianghan University, she had loan spells with Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain, before joining Lyon in 2024, where she has made 22 appearances and scored 10 goals.
International Career
Tabitha Chawinga has been a key player for the Malawi national team since her debut in 2011.
