Glódís Perla Viggósdóttir was born on June 27, 1995, in a small town in Iceland with a population of just 40,000. She began her football journey at a young age, playing for local clubs HK/Víkingur and Stjarnan, where she showcased her versatility by playing as a midfielder and forward. Her transition to a centre-back occurred during her time with Iceland's U-17 national team, which set the foundation for her future success.
Club Career
Viggósdóttir's professional club career took off in 2015 when she moved to Sweden to play for Eskilstuna United DFF. Over two seasons, she made 53 appearances and scored one goal. In 2017, she transferred to FC Rosengård, where she enjoyed significant success, winning a Damallsvenskan title and two Svenska Cupen trophies, contributing ten goals in 89 matches. In 2021, she joined Bayern Munich, where she has since become a vital player, helping the team secure three consecutive Frauen-Bundesliga titles. As of the current 2025-2026 season, she has made 28 appearances, scoring 2 goals for Bayern Munich.
International Career
Viggósdóttir has been a key player for the Icelandic national team since her debut in 2012.
